This article discusses the book Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn, written by Imam al-Nawawi. It is a significant collection of hadiths that serves as an excellent guide for the lives of Muslims. This study aims to examine the hadiths in the section Kitāb al-Umūr al-Manhī ‘anhā in terms of Imam al-Nawawi's methodology in compiling hadiths, how he derived rulings from these hadiths, and the status of the collected hadiths. The study adopts a qualitative approach by analyzing the content of the hadiths in Kitāb al-Umūr al-Manhī ‘anhā. It finds that this section contains 297 hadiths, representing 15.65% of the total 1,897 hadiths in Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn. The book on prohibitions is further divided into 115 chapters. Regarding the status of the hadiths, the study reveals that 98% of the hadiths in Kitāb al-Umūr al-Manhī ‘anhā are considered authentic (ṣaḥīḥ) based on evaluations by reputable hadith scholars. The remaining 2% of the hadiths, classified as weak (ḍa‘īf), meet the conditions for weak hadiths that can be acted upon according to most scholars. These weak hadiths do not introduce new practices but rather provide advice aligned with principles affirmed in other authentic texts. This reflects Imam al-Nawawi's meticulousness and scholarly expertise in selecting hadiths for his book.
